This allows you to ditch your points and condenser and upgrade to modern electronics. The Boyer Electronic Ignition electronically advances your timing to get optimum performance out of your British motorcycle. This unit will work on Triumph and BSA 500 / 650 / 750 c.c. bikes with 12 volt systems.

Triumph 650 Simplified Wiring Diagram

The first commercially produced Boyer-Bransden electronic ignition was launched in 1969 for Boyer of Bromley, a then famous motorcycle dealership whose Triumph race team were experiencing trouble with the points on their race bikes. They proved an instant success. By the time the Lucas "Rita" system entered the arena in 1973 Boyer-Bransden were already producing the Mark II having then sold more than 2,000 systems.

System works great, had a trim the diameter a bit to get it to fit but that was probably my housing being out of round. Great product!!

Great product, easy install.

Following 6 months of working on my 68 Triumph, I knew that upgrading the ignition was a must. I did the research and found the Boyer Bransdon product was the best choice for my project. The only minor issue I had was the instructions; the written instructions are visually cluttered and difficult to execute. With the aid of the wiring diagram and sketches on the reverse side of the instructions and a Youtube video, I planned out the installation. After understanding all the steps, I was able to install the system in less than an hour. The bike runs great through the RPM range and starts every time with just one or two kicks. Great product, just need to improve the instructions!

Hi, got this product and the podtronics regulator, been using them with a 12V 6amps battery, is it safe to move to a12V 9amp battery..?? thnks.

I do not think that would be an issue as it is not that much of a difference .
