Poor fitment on 2012 Scrambler
I have yet to take a ride with the seat installed, so I'm unable to comment on comfort. I purchased the seat as it was supposed to be an improvement over the stock Scrambler seat. I did spend some time sitting on it, and I can't tell the difference in comfort, but I'm hoping it breaks in after a few hundred miles.
As far as the fitment: It's poor at best. The mounting brackets on the underside of the seat are permanently pinned to the plastic undermold. As a result, the seat is unable to be adjusted in any way. It sits a full inch back from the tank, which creates quite a visible gap. Not only is it visible, but the shape of the seat makes one naturally want to rest somewhat against the rear hump, which means you then sit too far back from the handlebars. I have pannier mounts purchased from NewBonneville.com which I thought were maybe interfering with mounting, as the bolts for the mounts under the seat were pressing against the plastic undermold. I removed the pannier mounts, and still found the same issue above. So given the seat wasn't going to fit properly either way, I removed two of the four bolts and also removed some of the plastic undermold near the back of the seat to make room for the other two bolts to rest into.
In hindsight, I should have just returned the seat. If these fitment problems are common, then I'd go with something factory.
