    Good insurance Review by boomboomthump
I used one of these on my Psycho'78 build and recommend them. To clear up a few things that other reviewers posted.

First, you can use some red sticky grease on the o-ring to keep it in place.

Second, this isn't an alternative to the 'saddlebagrail' o-ring spacer. This nut addresses mainshaft leaks (where the shaft exits the main gear). If you have a later main gear with an o-ring on the end, this will add a second o-ring on the mainshaft as 'insurance'. If you have an early style (i.e. Panhead) main gear without any o-ring in the main gear, this will put one outboard of the gear. This has nothing to do with the 'saddlebagrail' spacer.

Speaking of that 'saddlebagrail' spacer (which I recommend), it fixes leaking main gear bearings (behind the sprocket) not a leaking mainshaft. If you're running a 77-up 4spd and need to replace your main gear because it's damaged or has a damaged bushing, Andrews sells a replacement gear with an o-ring/groove machined into it as a better alternative to the 'saddlebagrail' spacer which is finicky to install. This isn't available for 76-older transmissions though, so the spacer from Ray is your best bet.

Hope this helps. Keep 'em leak free and don't forget to fill 'em with Redline Shockproof Heavy oil. (Posted on 2/1/2016)

Not quite the same... Review by Copper
Not quite the same quality as the Jame's Gasket super nut's I've used in the past but still a good product. This along with one of the spacers (available from saddlebagrail on eBay and recently endorsed by The Horse in their 3 part series to rebuilding a 4-speed) with a machined lip to carry a viton o-ring are a must to help keep your 4-speed from leaking. Can't vouch for... Review by Lon
Can't vouch for it's oil tightness since my tranny isn't leaking but it's taller than the stock nut so the socket won't slip off as easily. I have an open belt kick only so my clutch basket was "out in the breeze". I spaced my bearing support out a little and used this nut, now no more shaft hanging out for all to see. ;) (Posted on 6/2/2013)

As a nut, well it works. It didn't stop my leak but this was the path of least resistance and an easy attempt to fix the drip. I was happy with the quality of the part. I also had to space out my bearing support, just fyi. (Posted on 7/4/2013)

I also used O ring spacer seal available from saddlebagrail. Theirs a product that LowBrow should carry on its site. the O ring spacer is quality and it works, the nut was an added security. don't know if I would trust the nut by itself. (Posted on 9/3/2013)

My Shovelhead had a... Review by Jason
My Shovelhead had a really bad tranny leak. This nut plus a new mainshaft seal completely stopped my leak! This nut is 1/2 the price of others, like the James Gasket Super Nut, so it is a really good deal. My only complaint is that the O-ring will NOT stay in the groove on the back of the nut. I had to hold the O-ring in place on the nut with silicone before I installed it. This wasn't a big deal, and the install we easy. Because of the O-ring issue, I would say that the James Gasket Super Nut is a nicer product... but this one is 1/2 the price and stopped my leak so I cant complain! I would highly recommend this product! (Posted on 8/28/2013)
