Sludge Tube (Trap) Replacement / Cleaning is a MUST on rebuild
Valuable advice to service this part of the engine when you're down this far in a rebuild. As demonstrated in Todd's video from a few years ago (Triumph 650 tear down and rebuild). A small expense for great return and peace-of-mind. If you're performing a rebuild - these videos are a must - and attention to small parts like the sludge trap (and new hex plug - available thru Lowbrow) are just small extra touches to complete successful rebuild.

Was able to remove the sledge trap plug with a drive link socket and an impact wrench. The sludge trap itself pulled out easily using a 5/8-13 tap and nut as a puller. The Lowbrow Customs replacement sludge trap installed fine. Recommend this product

This fit perfectly. I also bought the sludge tube plug and at first was sceptical of its fit but it too was a perfect fit and with its allen center was a lot easier to install than the original flat blade plug. Happy with both products. Thanks lowbrow!
