Seats FAQ
Do I need special hardware to install a solo seat?
Yes, in most cases. Universal solo seats typically require a weld-on or bolt-on seat mount, springs, and a front pivot bracket. This allows you to position the seat perfectly on a custom frame. For specific models like Sportsters, we offer complete bolt-on kits that make installation much simpler.
How comfortable is a solo seat for long rides?
Comfort depends on the seat's shape, foam density, and your use of springs. While a slim solo seat is designed more for style and a "in the bike" feel, many riders find them perfectly comfortable for hours of riding, especially when paired with seat springs which provide suspension. For true long-distance comfort, a larger touring or king and queen seat is generally a better option.
What's the difference between a solo seat and a king and queen seat?
A solo seat is designed for a single rider, providing a minimalist, stripped-down look that is perfect for choppers and bobbers. A king and queen seat is a one-piece seat designed for two people. It features a stepped-up rear section (the "queen" portion) that provides a comfortable and secure spot for a passenger.
