Ditch that belt and go with a traditional 530 rear drive chain setup! We designed these chain conversion kits back in 2011. They are heavily road-tested and built to last.
This chain conversion kit keeps the same gearing ratio as your stock drive belt setup. Remove the stock pulleys and simply install the front sprocket, the spacer (supplied as needed with certain kits) and rear sprocket with the included hardware and stainless steel locking tab washer. In addition to installing the hardware properly with clean hardware, red Loctite and proper hardware torquing, this locking tab washer physically stops bolts from being able to loosen. The mounting hardware is top-quality Grade 8, zinc-plated, and includes super heavy duty 1/8 inch thick washers (also Grade 8). The locking tab washer is stainless steel. 530 drive chain not included, supply your own or choose one from the 530 Drive Chains here at Lowbrow and we will send it on the way.
This kit is designed to be close to stock gearing for 1995-1999 Harley-Davidson Softails. The stock pulleys on a 1995-1999 Softail are 32 teeth front and 65 teeth rear, for a 2.031:1 gearing ratio. The sprockets in this Lowbrow Chain Drive Conversion Kit have a 23 tooth front and 48 tooth rear sprocket, for a 2.083:1 gearing ratio. This means that the countershaft sprocket rotates 2.083 times to spin the rear drive sprocket 1 full revolution. The rear sprocket has a 1.985 inch diameter center hole to properly fit 1999 and earlier Harley Softail rear wheels.
