What is the benefit of braided stainless brake lines over rubber?
Braided stainless steel lines do not expand or swell under pressure like rubber lines do. This eliminates a "spongy" lever feel and translates more of your hand pressure directly into stopping power, resulting in a firmer feel and better performance.
How do I know what length brake line I need?
The best way is to mock it up. With your master cylinder and caliper mounted, run a piece of string or an old cable along the path you want the brake line to take. Turn your handlebars fully to each side to ensure the line is long enough and won't get pinched or stretched. Then, measure the string.
How does a "cut-to-length" brake line kit work?
A cut-to-length kit includes a length of braided stainless hose and reusable compression fittings for the ends. You simply cut the hose to your desired length and then assemble the fittings on each end with basic hand tools. It's the perfect solution for a fully custom fit.
