Cannonball FAQ
What motorcycles does the Cannonball Stealthstarter fit?
The Stealthstarter is designed for 4-speed Harley-Davidson Big Twins with a kick-only drivetrain. Two versions are available: one for rigid frame builds and one for swingarm frame applications covering 1958 to 1985. Confirm your frame configuration and year before ordering. The kits are not interchangeable between rigid and swingarm applications.
Does the Stealthstarter change the appearance of the motorcycle?
No. The system bolts between the kicker cover and transmission case at only 19mm wide. The primary drive, primary housing, and oil tank remain untouched. The stock kick starter is retained, so the visual profile of the drivetrain area is effectively unchanged after installation.
Can I still kick start the bike after installing the Stealthstarter?
Yes. The stock kick starter is retained and fully functional after the Stealthstarter installation. The electric start is an addition, not a replacement. The bike can be started by button, key, or kick depending on the situation.
Is the Stealthstarter a DIY install?
The installation requires removing the primary cover and working within the transmission case area. Cannonball recommends that builders without the experience to perform this work take the kit to a professional mechanic at a shop specializing in vintage Harley-Davidsons. The kit includes installation instructions.
