Oil Pressure Gauges and Mounts for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles FAQ
Where does the sportster oil pressure gauge install?
On most Harley Sportsters, the gauge mounts to a bracket off one of the rear rocker box bolts, and the adapter fitting threads into an oil pressure sending unit port on the engine case.
What is a typical oil pressure reading for a Shovelhead or Evo engine?
These engines typically show higher pressure when cold. At hot idle, a reading anywhere from 5-15 PSI is common. The pressure should rise steadily as you increase RPM. A sudden drop or a zero reading at idle is a sign to shut down immediately.
Do these kits come with everything I need to install them?
Yes. Our complete kits are designed to be a bolt-on solution and include the liquid-filled gauge, the correct mounting bracket for your model, and the proper adapter fitting to thread into your engine.
