What is the difference between a weld-on hardtail and a full frame?

A weld-on hardtail attaches to the front section of your stock Harley-Davidson frame. A full frame is a complete, one-piece replacement that comes with a new vehicle title (MSO) for registration.

Can I install a weld-on hardtail myself?

Yes, with caveats. Weld-on hardtails are designed for installation by skilled and experienced fabricators. We strongly advise that only individuals with appropriate welding and fabrication knowledge and expertise undertake the installation. When in doubt, you can do the preparation and fitting of the hardtail yourself, and take it to a professional welder to have the finish welding completed.

Do I need a new title if I use a full replacement frame?

Yes, all of our complete sportster chopper frame options are sold with a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO), which you will use to register your new custom motorcycle with your local authorities.
