Spring height, width, and coil count affect both how the seat sits visually and how much travel it provides.

• Spring Rate and Rider Weight: A stiffer spring holds a heavier rider at the correct ride height without bottoming out. A softer spring gives more travel but may sag too far under load. • Chrome or Raw Finish: Most bobber seat springs are available in chrome for a show-quality finish or raw steel for builders who plan to paint, powder coat, or leave them natural. Chrome holds up better in wet conditions. Raw steel patinas over time, which suits certain build aesthetics.

• Spring Size and Fitment: Spring diameter, height, and mounting hole spacing need to match the seat pan hardware and the frame mounting points. Measure your existing setup or check against your seat pan dimensions before ordering. Mismatched spring dimensions are the most common ordering mistake on this type of hardware.

WHAT TO PAIR WITH YOUR SEAT SPRINGS

A complete spring seat setup requires more than just the springs:

• Seat Spring Mounts: Seat spring mounts and mounting tabs need to match the spring base diameter and the frame attachment points. Weld-on tabs are common for custom frame builds where no factory mount exists.

• Solo Seat Pivots: A solo seat pivot handles the front hinge point of the seat while the springs manage the rear. Both components need to be in place for the seat to articulate correctly under load.

• Seat Hardware: Seat hardware including bolts, washers, and seat pans completes the install. Check thread size and bolt pattern against your frame and seat before sourcing hardware separately.
