Welcome to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez ! We have beaches, sea and sun but forget the luxury yachts and rosé clichés, this weekend, it's V-twins, cold beers, and the raw soul of the chopper scene.
Trikes on the beach
A WEEKEND OF MOTORCYCLE FUN IN FRANCE
From May 8–10, the Euro Festival made its long-awaited comeback in Port Grimaud after seven years off the radar. Hosted by Harley-Davidson, the event packed in concerts, vendors, demo rides... A real treat for bikers and HOG members from across Europe. But our journey had a different destination.
Palm trees and fun in the sun.
We came for something a little more raw and fun: Choppers and Co, a free event in front of the beach in Cogolin, organized by the local Club South-Riders . We’ll get back to that in a bit.
Rolling in hot.
Euro Festival is probably a great event for everybody who loves the actually brand but fore sure, it's not the place for all the choppers freaks. However the Custom Bike Show by Harley-Davidson was a solid detour.
Custom bike show at Harley-Davidson
Set in the heart of the old village of Grimaud, around 50 customs bikes were on display, drawing stares from curious tourists and all the bikers on place Choppers, clubstyle, baggers, bobbers, radical customs, Chicanos, you name it ! For the first time, Karen Davidson was here as a jury and of course, member of The Bar & Shield Family. James Rispoli from the Harley Davidson Racing Factory was here as jury too. Pepe Lazzara took top honors with a stunningly detailed Chicano softail machine that had everyone talking.
Custom Bike show in the ancient streets.
It was a nice afternoon with great bikes, but let’s get back to why we were really there: Choppers and Co.
Choppers and the beach what more can you ask for?
Back in Cogolin, the hometown of the South-Riders, the club organized Choppers and Co. back for the first time since 2019.
Set right by the beach and the Mediterranean Sea, the vibe is perfect for chilling out and enjoying the vacation atmosphere. Vacation maybe but with the sound of engines in your ears!
Just messin' around...
For today No big-name sponsors, no bike show contest, just the love of bikes and the people who build, ride, and live them.
We catch up with old friends we haven’t seen since last season, check out the latest builds, and drink some beers while browsing the vendors...
Killer Sportster chopper on the beach.
From France, Italy, Belgium, even Germany—chopper freaks came from all over to soak up the good times.
A relly nice event with choppers for everybody ; Period-perfect choppers Panheads, Shovelheads, Knuckleheads, Evo choppers... There was something for every kind of freak....but this day flew and the sun started to dip.
Some of the boys having a good time on the beach.
Perfect time for some photo session on the beach, facing the sea.
End of the day, we're going home tomorrow morning, it’s time to relax, listen to some live music, enjoy a few more beers, and say goodbye to friends... Until next time !
