I will say some of the welds could look better and yes it does squirt some fuel out the cap if it's filled too much, but I love it all! There weren't any fitment issues at all and installation was super easy. I'm definitely loving not having to fill up every 50 miles.
this product is awesome, great quality
Fit perfect on my 09 Iron 883. Quality is top notch, Thanks again LowBrow!
This is probably the nicest gas tank for EFI sportsters out there. Really nice lines and high quality fab work.
Been riding with this tank for a while. I really like the look but honestly hate the tank. The gas cap opening has no splash cup so you must rely on the gas pump to stop it at the right height. I tried to fill it how I would normally fill any tank by bypassing the vapor emissions trap so I can see the gas level. Through trial and error I found that the level has to be far below what you would imagine to keep it from leaking or shooting gas out the vent at annoying times. If my bike is sitting out in the parking lot on a 90+ degree day with a fullish tank of gas, when I go sit on it and lift it off the side stand, the tank will shoot a nice long stream of gas out the top of the vented gas cap. And that's after filling it low. The tank is supposedly about the same capacity as my old tank but the gas light goes on after it's only used about 1.5 gallons, so I'm not sure how much of the gasoline this tank can actually utilize (my tank is not lifted or anything, it's leveled stock mounting) The gas cap is really tiny, which is cool, but since you have to jam the gas pump into your tank in order to fill it, you might damage your visible paint around the gas cap. Also the cap being so small and flat, can be difficult to remove with gloves on without risking scratching up your tank. There do not appear to be vented gas caps (which you must have for this tank) with larger knobs. Gas cap also can be difficult to find the threads when putting it back on, and it has a lot of threads so expect to really screw this thing in for a while, then tighten it down to seal the o-ring. Quality of metalwork is pretty great all the way around the tank. At the bottom by the seat was a really funky uneven weld spot that required a lot of filler to smooth it out though. I will be removing this tank and slapping my old one back on. To summarize: Looks cool, lacks a splash cup which makes filling it annoying and causes it to jet gas out the top even when filled properly. It has an annoying gas cap, and a capacity that seems to be quite a bit below what is advertised. If you're going to buy this it's going to be for the looks, cuz it's a pain in the ***. If you're like me and you ride ******* everywhere, fill up all the time, you might hate this tank. If you ride once in a while, it's gonna look cool on your bike and the other **** probably won't affect you.
