MOTORCYCLE ENGINE HARDWARE FOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON AND TRIUMPH BUILDS

Engine hardware covers the fasteners that hold the motor together and finish it visually. The correct head bolt set matters for torque retention and head gasket life. The correct rocker box hardware matters for both function and appearance on a show build or clean custom. This collection is almost entirely Colony Machine, covering Harley-Davidson from 1930 VL and Knucklehead through Evo Big Twin and Sportster, plus Triumph 650 and 750cc side cover hardware from Gardner-Westcott and British Standard. Available in chrome, CAD, parkerized, and zinc plated finishes depending on the application.

HEAD BOLT SETS

Colony covers every major Harley-Davidson engine generation with era-correct head bolt sets:

• Knucklehead and early Big Twin: CAD-plated sets for 1940 to 1947 Knucklehead engines and the 74/80 alloy head in parkerized and CAD. Chrome sets for the 45 Flathead and the 74/80 iron head covering 1930 to 1947.

• Panhead and Shovelhead: Grade 8 CAD and chrome 12-point sets for 1948-up Panhead and Shovelhead. Allen screw versions available for builders who prefer a socket head profile on the fin-exposed bolts. The most commonly reached-for head bolt kits in the collection.

• Sportster: 12-point chrome sets for 1973 to 1985 Ironhead Sportster and 1985 to 1991 Evo Sportster XL. Black headbolt sets for 1973 to 1985 Sportster for builders who want a non-chrome finish on the top end.

• Early Evo Big Twin: Chrome 12-point kit for 1985 to 1991 Evo Big Twin and the early Evo-specific 12-point for the L1984 to E1985 transition year.

ROCKER BOX AND CYLINDER BASE HARDWARE

• Rocker box nut kits: Colony #8608 and #8609 Shovelhead rocker box nut kits in chrome and CAD for 1966 to 1983. The high crown acorn rocker box bolt kit #7137 in chrome covers the same Shovelhead application for builders who want the period-correct acorn nut profile on the rocker box perimeter.

• Rocker shaft hardware: End plug and cap kits in chrome and CAD for 1966 to 1985 Shovelheads and Sportsters in multiple generation-specific part numbers. Rocker shaft cap nut and washer kits for both Shovelhead and XL applications.

• Rocker cover screws: Colony #8931 allen head rocker cover screw kit for 1985-up FL/FX and 1986-up XL in chrome. 12-point versions for FL, FX, and XL 86-up.

• Cylinder base hardware: Hi-torque cylinder base nut sets for pre-Evo Big Twins, chrome cap nut sets covering 1957 to 1985 Sportster and 1969-up Triumph, and cylinder base stud sets for K and XL models.

CAM COVER, MOTOR MOUNTS AND COMPLETE KITS

• Cam and timing cover screws: Allen screw kits for Sportster cam covers from 1971 through 2003, and timing cover screw kits for Big Twins from 1936 through 1993-up in chrome. Aftermarket case timing cover kits also available.

• Motor mount hardware: Center motor mount allen kits for 1986 to 2003 Sportsters, top motor mount hardware for 1952 to 1972 Big Twins and Sportsters, and front motor mount smooth allen kits for 1991-up Dyna.

• Motor case kits: Complete colony motor case kits in chrome for 1948 to 1964 Panheads and 1970 to 1978 Shovelheads covering all case fasteners in a single purchase.

• Complete show bike kits: Colony makes complete show bike hardware kits for 1978 to 1984 Shovelheads, 1987 to 1991 FLT and FXR, and 1994 to 2003 Sportsters in smooth allen and acorn profiles. These cover every visible fastener on the engine in one matched set.
